Super Museum Sunday, February 5, 2017

Savannah has a deal on super bowl Sunday where they open up certain museums for free. There were some 40 venues or so open free of charge throughout the historic district. We managed to get into 6 of them in the 4 hour window. Some were old restored homes with period appropriate furniture, others were museums with sculpture, paintings, etc. We were able to get into the Green Meldrim Home that General Sherman used as his base at the conclusion of his "March to the Sea" during the Civil War. Beautiful detailed craftsmanship in this mansion. We also visited the birthplace of Juliet Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts.
