Tybee Island, February 6, 2017
We drove out to Tybee Island which is a barrier island about 20 minutes outside of Savannah. It was completely underwhelming. I guess this is where Savannahians go when they want to go to the beach. The ocean is beautiful but, other than that, not much reason to go there. On the way we stopped at Bonaventure Cemetery and visited the graves of Johnny Mercer, the famous songwriter (think "Moon River"), and a couple of the people mentioned in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". That was fun. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it.
